About
Leslie Berenson
Leslie Berenson’s paintings are a reflection of her lifelong love for art and the natural beauty of the water. Growing up in a quaint coastal New England town, she spent countless early mornings fishing with her father, surrounded by the tranquil calm of the sea smoke as it rose from the water. These serene and magical moments, etched deeply into her memory, inspire her work to this day.
After graduating from the Art Institute of Boston, Leslie embarked on a successful 30-year career as a fashion illustrator and Creative Director in the retail fashion industry. Her work took her to some of the most stunning locations in the world—from the charming fishing villages of New England to the turquoise waters of the Caribbean and the lush landscapes of Hawaii. These travels profoundly shaped her artistic vision, infusing her paintings with a sense of wanderlust and a deep connection to the water.
Today, Leslie paints from her studio in sunny Florida, often accompanied by her beloved dog, Luci, who ensures she takes necessary breaks from her creative flow. Her husband, a constant source of encouragement, supports her in this fulfilling second career as a fine art painter.
Leslie’s work is celebrated for its impressionistic charm and its ability to evoke peacefulness and wonder. Her signature paintings of small boats, glowing in the soft light of early morning or the fading warmth of sunset, transport viewers to quiet harbors and reflective shorelines. Each brushstroke captures the interplay of light and water, telling a story of serenity and timeless beauty.
As a recent survivor of Stage 4 lung cancer, Leslie’s passion for her work has grown even stronger. This journey has deepened her commitment to creating art that celebrates life and inspires calm. Every painting is a tribute to resilience, gratitude, and the quiet moments of joy that surround us.
Leslie’s originals and fine-art giclée reproductions are cherished by collectors across the country and around the world, transforming homes and offices into spaces of tranquility and reflection. Her art is more than a visual experience—it’s an invitation to pause, reflect, and connect with the beauty of the world.
